The Peace Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people from across South West Hertfordshire who have a life limiting or terminal illness.  Most of our patients have cancer but an increasing number of others have conditions such as end stage heart disease, respiratory and neurological disease.

Our care is holistic and we look after the whole person,and their family/carers, helping with emotional and spiritual issues as well as physical symptoms. We focus on enabling patients to live their lives to the full and providing the best quality of life when a cure is not possible. 

We have a team of specialist staff including doctors, nurses and counsellors providing inpatient, day and outpatient care, a hospice at home service and bereavement support. We can help to reduce pain and other physical symptoms, help patients come to terms with their illness, provide practical support with home care and benefits, and support patients’ families and friends through bereavement. We use complementary therapies as well as providing traditional clinical care.

We need to raise £3 million of charitable income every year to continue running and developing our services. All the care we provide to our patients and their families is free.
